For Mallina Wilson, remembrance begins with one name.
Her name was Amina.
Amina Agisheff was Mallina’s mother.
Before her name became connected to an investigation, she was a mother, a daughter, a friend, and a woman with a life and story of her own.
Mallina was 15 when her mother disappeared. Two years later, shortly before Mallina’s high school graduation, Amina’s remains were found.
For years, so much of Amina’s story became connected to what happened to her.
But she was more than the way her life ended.
This September 25, Mallina invites you to help shift the focus back to the people behind the headlines.
